The anecdote of why Pam tracked Amy down:
“The other day my friend Bill McCoy asked me if I knew much about golf. ‘Sure,’ I told him. ‘You try to get the ball through the windmill and into the hole.’ He laughed and told me I needed professional help. He may have meant psychiatrist Mardi Horowitz, but I took it to mean LPGA golf legend Amy Alcott.
The 26th anniversary of the Mousetrap Invitational Golf Tournament was held at Toscana Country Club on April 27th, and raised approximately $50,000, with the proceeds supporting native wildlife rehabilitation programs, education programs and conservation for endangered species breeding programs at The Living Desert.
Amy Alcott, the 2009 Honorary Mousetrap Chair, was thrilled with the event. ‘It was wonderful to carry on the legacy of Mousie Powell and the Mousetrap Women’s Golf Invitational.; Alcott went on to say, ‘I think a great time was had by all and there could be no more special beneficiary than The Living Desert. It was a win-win for everyone. I look forward to being involved again in 2010…”
